A short while ago, my sister-in-law was very sick with a poor prognosis. Being that she didn’t know if she would be around to see her eldest son become a bar mitzvah, she asked him to try on his
Bar mitzvah suit for her. He willingly obliged. She made sure to mention that since he had worn his new suit once before his actual bar mitzvah, the usual halachos of not wearing new clothes during, aveilus would not apply to him, in case she would not make it.
The Ribono Shel Oilam took back Avigail Rechnitz’s Holy Neshama a few weeks before the Bar Mitzvah.
Being that my family finds it easier to express ourselves through music, I wanted to write a song L’ilui Nishmasa. I sat down at the piano, put my fingers on the keys, and let the instrument do the talking.
